CAITLIN RAE MOON

Like my paintings, these works explore the interconnectedness of everything within our universe. Many of them also explore the complexities of womanhood; the power and burden of the life giving force within us, the inherent beauty, strength and vulnerability of the female form,  our connection to the great earth mother, and the pain and resilience that we hold within ourselves. I combine, layer and manipulate found images to create compositions that are mysterious and dreamlike. They reveal themselves slowly, simple at first glance and more nuanced and complex the longer they are examined.
